When I am connected to shore power I get a loud hum through the AM radio. This does not happen on generator power. Any thoughts? Drives me crazy.

This should never happen.. Best guess is a wire-fault on the shore outlet (Park's outlet) Does this happen only at one park or at many parks?

Also You said only on the AM radio... This suggests possible local interference.. For example... a neighbor with a MSW inverter.

It is very common for MSW invertes to cause a loud hum on AM. but not shore power and not generator power and not TSW inverters

It can be a s simple as a bad connect or ground in the utility box.

Not the external power. It happens anywhere I connect 30 or 50A. If I park the toad in front of the MH with shore power on the car radio also reacts with a loud hum. I got the portable radio and walked around the unit. It seems to be coming only from the front end.

Ok, well then I'd have to be hands on to give more info.. I'm headed for the I-10 corridor but can not tell you where or when

The catch is I know of nothing in the rig that runs on shore power only.. Save, in some very few cases. 1/2 of the transfer switch One guess. and I stress GUESS. is a bad relay in a transfer switch
