Convection Oven Rattle

2008 Kountry Star - Has anyone tried to reinforce the convection/microwave oven mounting ? The thing rattles and bounces so much on bumpy highways sometimes I think it's going to bounce onto the floor !!

Is it the oven itself or could it be the turntable inside?

Welcome rjcunning to the Newmar forum and irv2.
Make sure three screws are tight into top of your micro, its mounted like it would be in your home. If you have a plastic dish cover on top of glass turn table plate will help keep the table stable and cut down the noise. Make sure glass plate is mounted in slots of turning motor and resting on rollers for turning.
If your riding on over inflated tires they will cause alot of vibration through out your MH get coach weight and use inflation charts for your tires. You will find tables in Quick Tips & Mods at LINK below.
Enjoy the forum and do post often.

I have the same unit and it squeaks and rattles horribly. Last night, I began to investigate and as previously posted, found the screws in the compartment in the front of the Microwave after removing the floor of the cabinet above the unit. Unfortunately, the rear mount is not solid and was found to have been causing the squeaks and rattles. The unit hangs on a flat metal bracket in the rear (not screwed into rather it merely hangs). I pushed some foam shelf covering between the microwave and the mounting bracket and then siliconed it in an attempt to eliminate the squeak. I will let you know if this works after the next trip. Removal of unit may be a little more difficult if needed, but hoping the squeaks and rattles are eliminated.

Unfortunately the bar on wall maybe to low, or has become loose from wall studs, so back end of Micro is to low. To remount bar may not be possible, if bar is loose retighten. Screws should be in metal wall studs if they missed them that will be a problem also. The foam backing may work for you as long as the bar is firm against wall.

On my microwave the noise problem was the baffle that keeps cold air from coming in from the outside on the back of the microwave. This is metal against metal and sounds like it's coming apart. Fix was to wrap baffle with duct tape, you can't take the baffle out or the cold air will come in from the outside.

Isn't it amazing what can be done with a little foam and duct tape! Keeps a Newmar running.
