Rattle Noise From PS Front Slide on '15 DSDP 4369

I'm having an extremely annoying "rattling" noise from the passenger side
front slideout on my '15 DSDP 4369. At this point I'm depending on my
DW co-pilot to tell me it's coming from the top front of that slide. I know it's not from the door, as I've learned how to prevent that. Anyone have this problem and resolved it? I'm not certain it's not coming from the slide awning. If anyone has thoughts as to the likely culprit, I'd much appreciate it.

Check the power step cover. Power it slightly out or fully in if there is any play in that direction. These can be real rattlers and seem to originate in another location. Kind of like a ventriloquist like rattle.

Thanks, Lug Nut...hadn't even considered the step, since it's so low and
below the door. As you suggest, sources and locations of noises and be
very mysterious. Appreciate your thoughts.

On our new DS4018 we had a serious rattle above the passenger side. When I checked the slide top cover I found the small screws holding the steel plate that is used so that the magnet mounted on the coach section has something to "grab" on to had sheared off. So instead of the topper cover being held tightly to the coach by the magnet it was flapping in the wind causing a pretty good rattle. Used some JB Weld to put the small steel plate back in place. Stopped the rattle.

Appreciate the good responses, each of which may prove the culprit. I'm
familiar with the MCD shade noises...(still trying to quiet mine over the DS
window). However, I'm more inclined to feel I have the slide topper
problem. Soon as can, I'll get the ladder to that area. Again, thanks to
all!

My front door awning always rattled when I closed the front door. Slam your front door and watch the door awning. Often, they don't retract fully and lock in place. Mine took quite a few adjustments to get it to close correctly.

My very loud rattle is intermittent and only happens when I hit a bump in the road. I have a 2 slide Canyon Star. From the driver's seat, I'm hearing the rattle in the slide area behind my back -- I'm convinced it's the slide lock.

DW rode in the rear recently and said a similar loud rattle was happening in the slide lock area of the bedroom slide.

A RV tech told me to not lock the slides. Haven't done that yet while driving so don't know if that's the solution to the rattle.

Now here's another rattle you can check for. On really rough roads, I would get another kitchen slide rattle. It didn't take long to realize that the microwave glass turntable was jumping up and down. We use a silicone pad on the turntable when cooking, so when travelling, I slide the pad under the turntable. One more rattle gone, but still on the hunt!

On my London Aire the inside steps were making a noise and I had to put some plastic pads down. The steps lift up and would rattle when hitting bumps. A lot of storage under them.

Great responses...thanks to all. Not realistic, of course, to not expect some
noises/rattles...problem is that some are just beyond what we should expect. I've not yet been physically able to attempt to resolve mine, which
I'm inclined to believe is coming from the slide topper...at least, that's where I'll begin. Quite conceivably, I'll find the other areas mentioned will prove to be the source of some unwanted noise. Thanks, again...many are
benefitting from this discussion, no doubt.

Shoot me! I had to dig 5 pages to locate this thread. I had responded on it some time ago with a check the stair cover tip. However, Dah..........I had run into this issue when I took this coach to Newmar. On the way we heard this banging thing on the right side. My wife looked up best she could at the forward passenger slide and thought it to be the slide topper. I guess the wind would catch it and bang it in and out.
Newmar fixed it quickly. They added a piece to hold the topper firmly closed when the slide was in. (Photo Below)

This may very well be the problem you are experiencing.

My London Aire came with two one on each end of the full slide topper. The front one wasn't enough it would bang something loud. I adjusted the front one and added two more I bought from the dealer I believe were only $12.00 each. Also the magnet piece that is supposed to hold the cover in came loose, I epoxied it I think I used JB Weld .they would always make noise when I had a wind coming from the left side.
