Hi the wife and I are finally ready to purchase our first MH moving up from the TT. We have found the floor plan we like and the corresponding modle number. ( Canyon star 3512 red color ). However we have run into a snag and cant find the MH available anywhere with one exception being Breggs rv sales in canton Ohio. The distance to the lot isnt the problem, after contacting the dealer we where informed that they would be closing the dealership on the 20th of Feb.

My questions:

Has anyone ever done a dealer to dealer transfer of units ( we have a local newmar dealer )

Can units be ordered in a timely fashion from Newmar?

Does anyone know of a canyon star 3512 in red that is near Virginia that I may have overlooked.

You are close enough to the factory in Napanee Indiana to consider a factory pickup. You would have to order it through a dealer. It takes about 8 weeks from order to delivery and you get exactly what you want in colors and options. The factory PDI and delivery is an additional few bucks but well worth while. The unit will be far more tested and adjusted than any deal can do.

W&D+3 welcome to irv2 and the Newmar forum
Been looking at all dealers inventory I could find and no can find, dealers are ready to stock the 2008's and are trying to unload their 06-07's to clear. If you have found one and dealer is going out of business you may get better buy if he wants to unload. The coach is on a 1 year warranty at any Newmar dealer and its not hard drive to Newmar repair center in Nappenee. Been there 4 times myself.
Always bought off dealers lots couldn't wait 8 weeks but you will get what you want if you did go that way.
What ever way you go good luck you won't regret it.

Eight weeks is indeed the "average" delivery time factory orders and as Peter as mentioned,I would recommend a factory delivery as it puts you in the place where the most knowledge exists about the construction of your rig and you're right where the parts are,if there's the need...
If you have a local dealer whom you've been in contact with, have them call their respective regional sales manager while you're sitting there and get them to inquire of the availability of the Canyon Star unit you make reference to if that one interests you.
There are some 2008 products under construction now,but they're the "picture units" for the brochures...I saw them on the factory tour yesterday.
