Rear slider locker on Essex. HELP

Problem with REAR BED SLIDE. 04 Newmar Essex 4502
The Motor & circuit board burnt out, replaced the motor & circuit board. The old circuit board had 3 connectors with 2 to 8 wires or so on each connector, the new circuit board has only 2 connectors, newmar said let to 2 wire connector hang down(in other words you dont need this anymore). The slider motor now goes in & out no problem, the lockers opens when it goes out, but will not lock when the slider comes back in.
If I take the wires off & put all 3 connectors on the front slide circuit board it works great.
Has anyone switched to the new circuit board & did you have any problems?
Newmar said we now have to hold the switch while it goes in/out

Yes In 05 or 06 they changed the slide open/close having the operator hold the switch to make the slide work. It was a safety issue. Here is the manual for the slide control. http://www.intellitec.com/PDF/5300719.100.pdf
