Not really a Newmar topic, but Newmar and others are reducing the 4 slides to 3 or 2 by introducing full wall slides. Damon is introducing a 5 slide coach. Thought it was interesting and I like to think us Newmar owners are up on all the new stuff.

For the Newmar owner that needs to know even more...

The Damon 5 slide (code name Penthouse) is an extraordinarily unique and functional floor plan with an amazing price point. Creates an impressive multi-room home-like feel instead of the typical linear bed-bath-living floor plans now. I would expect this design to drive some significant industry changes.

Another industry driving category killer will be the new Silver Crown Coach model from (believe it or not) Pony Express. Only the prototype unit is out, first production unit currently on the line. No web documentation on it, yet. Think a 40 foot Dynamax with granite floors, marble shower, granite counters, and LA quality cabinetry/finish on an air suspension twin rear axle, 10 tire (8 rear 2 front) chassis where BOTH rear axels, yes BOTH, are driven. Just shy of half a million.

When I saw the floor plans for Damon's new 5 slide motorhome, I queried about the space it will require at the campsite. Maybe the parks will accomodate it, but it seems there is quite a bit of squeezing in for the present 4 slides. At least it is on the passenger side where the utility hookups are absent.

We've talked about the slide in a slide (another thread). It got me thinking, why not a slide UP? When parked we could have two stories. Finally, I could tell the grand kids it's late, get upstairs and go to bed!

Newmar has a 2007 Dutch Star with a full wall slide. It is model 4325. The slide looks about 25-30 feet long. Go to Newmar Dutch Star Floorplans and click on Launch the Newmar Floorplan viewer. Then click on model 4325.
