Help - Is there an easy way to pry the shower floor drain out so we can clean out the pipes and trap. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Those drain covers seem to get stuck for life.
I just use a small plunger and the drain works like new again.

Will look around the campground for a plunger tomorrow, will try to pry the drain cover off if that doesn't work and put a strainer in the hole.
Thanks for everyone's help.

If you get a DENTAL PICK clean around the edge of strainer, this will help remove build up dirt and gently try to remove strainer. When placing strainer back add Vasoline jelly to edge of strainer, this will make removal a snap in future.

The tool Yaj suggested didn't fit our drain, so hubby's had a moment of genius and made his own, but smaller out of a tie wrap. He cut diagonal slits part way through, and voila! Amazing how his little homemade tool pulled out a bunch of hair and unclogged that shower drain in no time flat!

Joel will indeed smoke a cigar today, weather permitting!
Glad it helped! I was amazed.

Hubby took some wire he had and made a narrow snake and got lots of hair and soap scum out and then poured a few buckets of water down the drain and it is running fine now. Tried the dental pick, still can't remove the drain which seems cemented for the life of the coach. There must have been some really strong Amish working the day they made ours. <grin>...
Thanks for everyone's suggestions.
