We're removing the bedroom TV in our 06 DutchStar 4023 and it's being a bit stubborn. The TV is on the left as you walk into the bedroom, and has a cabinet with 2 shelves underneath it.

We removed the wooden plugs on the side and took the face trim off, took off the vent grille on the right side, and removed one long screw from underneath, near the front. What else do we remove? Does the trim that sticks out about 2" from the cabinet that the TV is in get removed also?

We can move the TV up and down a bit but it is clearly bolted to the piece of wood it sits on because that moves along with the TV. We can't really see any other screws going into it from underneath. Any suggestions from someone with a similar setup would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mary & Dennis
06 DSDP

Mary & Dennis I have a 2005 DSDP and replaced the tv. It had three long wood screws in the back that the tv was fastend too.

Good luck.

The sloping floor for the TV maybe screwed into bottom of TV as my metal floor was in my bedroom. Once any trim is removed the floor attached to bottom of TV will come out with TV. I had two screws into metal plate to floor of box.
After all is removed you will see screws screwed into bottom of TV.
If you can not slide it all out what is blocking it will have to be removed. Use a mirror and see if you have "L" brackets screw into trim in hole for TV.
If its a flat screen LCD maybe on a wall bracket mounted to wall.

Thanks guys. We'll take another look at it tomorrow and see if we can remove the 2" front trim. At least then we'll be able to get a look at what's holding it in. It's not a flat screen, it takes up the whole cabinet. Good thing is I'll gain a little storage room once we install a flat screen.

I had 20" CRT in my 2007 DSDP and it was bolted to a plywood base that was not attached.

Unfortunately, I don't recall exactly how I got it out. But it does come out by tilting it.

I have removed my TV last year and like you I removed the outside wooden frame mounted in front of the TV, unscrewed that long screw, and I could not pull out the TV. I even removed the side vent but that did not help much.

I finally figured it out. The TV is bolted to a .25 inch board just like Dirk wrote. So you have to lift the front end of the TV with the board attached and pulled everything as one unit. It is not easy to do as there is very little clearance. I used a few spatulas to pry the board underneat the TV board and the cabinet. Once the bottom edge of the board has reached the edge of the cabinet, you will be able to pull out the TV.

Be patient and you will make it.

Gaetan

Thats the best advise yet as Dirk & Gaetan have discribed. My plate was metal as yours is the 1/4" plywood, I did have to lift over the lip also.

It's out!!! Thanks so much for the helpful directions. Wow, that thing was a monster. We had Newmar change out our front TV when we were there in April and we thought it was one of those huge ones also. Turned out it was only about 4-5" thick! Didn't weigh much more than the Vizeo we replaced it with. But this one is a biggie. Thanks again.

Mary & Dennis
