Removing sofa/pull out bed

Considering removing the sofa/bed. On our 2010 DSDP 4386. We never use it as a bed a it is not very comfortable for guests to sit on. The question is, do I store the couch and I am seriously running out of storage room, or do I try to sell it on Craigslist. What would it do to resale if I was to sell it without a sofa/bed?

We just went through months of searching for the right motorhome for us. In that time we looked at a lot of different coaches. The previous owners often took out a table or chairs or like you are considering the sofa for whatever reason. I didn't look at those RVs as being something I would avoid just because some item of furniture was missing but I would factor it into the price I would be willing to pay if it was something that I wanted.

The RV that we ended up with had no dinette chairs although the table has 2 leaves for it and it will be comfortable to seat 4 around the table. For some reason one of the two previous owners took all the chairs out and didn't include them when it was sold to a new owner. It wasn't a deal breaker.

My advice would be to post a pic of your sofa on the classified section of this site and find a new home for it! No sense storing something for someone else. The inconvenience won't make up for the $20 less you get for the coach because it is not there.

I wouldn't worry about storing it. It's common when looking at used motorhomes for furniture modifications to have been made. I just sold a Winnebago Minnie travel trailer in which I had removed the dinette and replaced it with a nice Flexsteel Easy Bed sofa, which I considered a big improvement.

We did exactly the same mod on our boat. Removed uncomfortable sleeper-sofa and added 2 recliners. Sold the sofa on the boating forum.
Coincidently when looking at our current Newmar VTDP the PO had made the same swap and stored the sofa... told us he would reinstall if desired.
We told them no thanks.
IMO.... Make yourself comfortable and don't worry about the resale... there are sofas available if someone prefers it.
