Replacing chassis battery with AGM?

I have a 2018 Bay Star. Due to a faulty relay, my battery died and I had to jump it multiple times. Now the battery is showing signs of poor charging, thinking it needs to be replaced.

Has anybody changed theirs out for an AGM battery? My battery is Group 65, 750 CCA. I assume I can just pickup the same AGM battery and swap it out. Any concerns in doing this?

AGM's take a different charging profile than standard batteries. Be sure your charger/inverter can support that.

If your talking about your starter battery, sure you can. They are sold as replacement batteries all of the time.
AGM are a bit more expensive but I'm not sure what the gain will be over the standard maintance free battery it calls for.

My old MH came with a AGM starting battery and had standard flooded acid house batteries. I had and used the MH for 5 years, trouble free.

I replace starting batteries in all my vehicles with AGM if not originally supplied. No issues.

I'm done with cleaning corrosion from battery terminals.

Used to use AGM, but stopped doing so. I've not found AGM to provide appreciably longer service in starter/chassis battery service to justify the cost adder.

Imho. Ymmv.

I did this in 2016. My 2 standard batteries were replaced with AGM batteries by Interstate. Working fine.

When doing my research, the only difference between the lead acid batteries and AGM was the CCA below 20 degrees.

In 4 years of owning this motorhome, I have only started the engine below 20 degrees (18) once.

Charging has not been an issue.

at this time, I have 10 agm batteries; 8 house and 2 starter/chassis batteries.

Hi rayza,
AGM batteries all around for many years. Lifeline is the brand. No problems and no regrets.

I run the same deep cycle AGM batteries for the house and chassis. No problems with starting the engine. The batteries were purchased in 2008 and still going strong.

My chassis battery is only accessible through opening up the dash. Got to remove a rubber cover and a desktop to get to the battery access panel. First time I did this I simplified the setup and installed a hinged cover and additional insulation (for noise and heat).

I changed the lead-acid battery with an AGM to make life easier. Now I don't need to routinely open dash port to check on battery fluid levels.

No maintenance or charging issues with the AGM.
