Replacing Furniture?
I am considering a possible replacement for one of the sofas on my Ventana. I am assuming (?) that selection is limited to something that can be wrangled through the passenger door, which severely limits the options. Has anyone else ever replaced any major furniture? How in the heck would you replace a refrigerator if that was ever needed?

I'm in the middle of a furniture change over in my DS. Magic bed coming out swivel rocker recliners going in . The back comes off the new chairs and they come through the door . Magic bed came out in pieces .
Most times an RV fridge will go through the door , occasionally a side window has to come out; residential fridge in is another story ; some coaches removing the windshield or a complete slide is required.

I have taken out the Queen sleeper couch, they come apart, side's,back, main section. Then just take them in or out through the door and re-assemble.

We just ordered one of these last week to replace the Flexsteel jackknife sofa in the RV.
We'll probably never use it for sleeping, but because it folds flat we'll be able to get it into the RV with no trouble.
So something like this could work for you, if you find a style you like.
Coaster Futons Button Tufted Sofa Bed - Coaster Fine Furniture
As noted by others, most recliners have a removable back, which makes it easy to get through the small RV door.

Hey there,
I just did the same thing. Did you remove the bolts that held down the sofa frame? If so, did you push them out downward while bracing the slide bottom or just cut them off.
Thanks
Dave

Hi Captain David, It's been ~ 6 years since I took the sleeper couch out.
The couch frame was only held down by regular wood screws, not bolted through.
For safety, I used a rope to keep the folded frame together to avoid any
pinching.
I pushed the big bolts for the seat belts down and out of the extended slide and stuffed some foam into the holes.
A corner desk for computer & printer and a small side cabinet was installed by Focalwood products, and I bought an Euro-chair.
They matched the cherry wood to perfection.

Siggy,
The seat belt bolts are the bolts I was mentioning. My question is, you said you pushed them out. Did you just use small sledge hammer or did have to support the underside of the slide first before pushing them out ? I understand it's been 6 years but any memories would help.
Thank you
David

You can go to RV Furniture, Boat Furniture, Flexsteel, Flexsteel Furniture, Villa, Palliser, Lafer, Lambright, Leather Furniture, Bradd & Hall - Bradd and Hall and they will install just about anything they sell on their website. I just took out my sofa sleeper and had them install a sofa recliner (recliners on both ends of the couch). As others have stated they go in and out in sections through the door.

I used a hammer & some smaller bolt to push them down and out.
The bolts have a square and a flat head to fit the square punched holes at the bottom of the slide.
Be sure that your slide is OUT ! when you do this.

Thank you, that was my thinking. I just didn't know if I had to support the slide before hammering out the carriage bolt. But it sound like they come out fairly easy once started.
Thank you for your insight and be safe on the roads.
