Report from Quartzsite

We are in Quartzsite area about 20 miles from the NKK Gathering. Ted is suggesting after almost 20 hours of rain that those who are coming today (Tuesday) might wait till tomorrow because of the mud and rain. We are at Black Rock RV Park and if you are looking for a night to stay with full hookups there are sites here. Ken Wilson the president of NKK Golden Aire is park right next store in site I-7. Still raining hard here and must have close to 2 inches of rain which is usually for here. Will visit NKK Gathering tomorrow and share whats going on. Went to town and around the big tent area and most active it's been in the last 10 years.

It's clearing up this afternoon and you should be good for a late morning or early afternoon arrival.

Tom....is it drying up? There is still another huge wave of rain to hit So. Cal., but is suppose to be done by Friday. We'll be their Saturday. We use the wash to walk from our campground to the big tent. Hopefully it will be settling down.

The weather is cool today with a little wind. No rain in forecast for Quartzsite and after 2 inches of rain yesterday it's nice day today. All should be good for those coming in today or the next couple days. Rain will keep the dust down which is a good thing.

Biggest Gathering we have seen in the last decade is going well. Weather is nice and rigs keep rolling in. Lots of seminars and Newmar "Fellowship" happening.

This the first time out since Colorado Springs hail storm on Aug. the 6th at 3:45 PM at KOA. With replacing our 18 Durango that was 4 months old and totaled by AAA and then replacing almost all items on the roof it sure was great to hit the road again. No less then 45K loss between our replacement Durango because of low blue book and not filing a claim on London Aire insurance with Progressive for fear of being canceled. It's all behind us now and looking forward to our travels in 2019.

Tom, I guess the trip with the NKK folks in September didn't count? What are we chopped liver? You even gave a class!

Maybe you meant first big trip.

Remind me....where does the Newmar group stay.

Forgot about that one. Cheryl called on short notice and asked, since a lot of new Newmar owners were coming, would we come and do a seminar like we will be doing at 9 AM tomorrow morning here at Quartzsite Gathering. London Aire still had a lot of repairs needed and no tow which was a first in 30 years.

I did see you waxing it on that trip.....so shiny you couldn't tell there had been any issues.

90% of damage was on the roof. Almost all items of items added on the roof were hail damaged. It was amazing how well the fiberglass roof on the LA held up and how much damage everything else had on the roof.
