Residential refrigerator in Newmar 2901

Has anybody tried to replace their Norcold 6 or 8 cu ft refrigerator with a residential 10 cu. ft. or smaller refrigerator?
It seems there are a number of smaller fridges that may fit and then smaller gassers would have the benefit of a residential refrigerator.
Thanks for any information.

Cheapest route is look for "Dorm" room size fridges at Lowes or Home Depot. They are out there in 10 cf range. When my 20yr old Dometic died I didn't want to buy the same crap. Found a few Marine fridges that use a compressor and run off 12 vdc. Look up Vitrifrigo and Nova Kool. Both have many options. They aren't cheap, but they just work and they won't catch fire! I got the NovaKool 9000 😜👍🏻👍🏻

I discovered the 10 cuft Norcold w/icemaker fit in the same cut out as the 8' fridge and was the base model in the Dutch Star. I asked for and Newmar installed it on my order. It has been reliable, cold and trouble free, and runs at 33-36 degrees at the 5 temp setting and keeps ice cream hard. It could be an easier replacement since you have the gas line and vent on the wall allready.
