NV housing prices and property tax higher or I would consider there.

I see you have a newer coach. There is another reason not to consider NV....it's called GST (Government Services Tax). I'm attaching a worksheet for my coach, and of course I didn't actually pay anywhere near what NV uses for the MSRP.

Yeah, the annual Arizona registration for this year on our 2004 Newmar Mountain Aire is down to $405.

If you are only concerned about cheap living, AK is the best state. No state income or sales tax, in fact they pay you around 2k per household member. Once you hit 65 you get a free license plate as you do for vehicles over 8 years old. Another old age benefit is the free hunting, trapping and fishing license. Some areas don't even have property tax. ie Hyder, AK. The downside are the months from Nov through April.

So far no one mentioned our state, we want to keep it a secret, don't come here, way to many people. We like it, but everyone else will hate it, to damn hot.

If you want a desert environment but low taxes you should look at the Tri Cities in Washington state. We don’t have a state income taxes. Electricity is basically free compared to Arizona. Lived in Phx for 10 years the power rates are crazy high. Tabs are only 120.00 bucks a year or so. The weather in basin is very similar to the high deserts of Arizona it will get to the 100s during the summer dry heat. The winters aren’t bad very rarely snows and when it does melts in the same day. Less then 8inches of rain and 300 days of sunshine. A side benefit of living in the Tri Cities is a short drive to Oregon and they don’t have a sales tax because they have a huge income tax.

LOL...No, we’re not for just “cheap living” or we wouldn’t enjoy the rv’ing life. Just didn’t want to be paying 5-6k a year for tags on the motorhome if We didn’t have to.
What about that LLC thing you do in Montana, is it just for buying a new rig?

Uh, no one mentioned Georgia because he/she wants a tax friendly state. My BIL moved from Florida to Georgia several years ago after retirement. He soon discovered his retirement was taxed in Georgia. In the next couple years they will be selling their home in Georgia and heading back to Florida.

How do Tri-Cities compare with Bend, OR, when it comes to health care, education, access to air travel? Where do you go for entertainment, camping, fishing?

The cities are a lot alike for fishing, camping and airports. Schools are all based on your neighborhood. Bend is a small city of only 90k and the tri cities has a pop of about 300k. The tri cities is right in the heart of Washington wine country and there is a huge art scene in the surrounding areas. The tri cities has a much stronger economy spearheaded by Hanford Nuclear Reservation. Oh and Oregon has a 9% income tax

No scratch in this game, but be warned Bullhead is extremely windy. If full timing be prepared to tie down the slide out toppers!

We sold our house in Ohio and moved into the RV full time. We joined Escapees and used their services for Texas as our mailing address and Florida as our residence. Our plan was to travel full time for three to five years and then decide where we wanted to live.
We crossed the country east to west and north to south twice each way. We really thought we would end up living in Colorado, Utah, Montana, Oregon, Virginia, North Carolina or Tennessee since we really love the mountains. We loved these states but there were also a few surprises in each of the places we thought we wanted to live including high housing prices, cost of living, forest fires, taxes, crowding, lack of good medical, homelessness, crime, or ticks.
After two years on the road, each of us dealing with some medical issues, we bought a house in a Del Webb retirement community back in Ohio. The main reasons for going back there were family, good medical facilities and reasonable cost of living. We still travel in the RV about 7 months of the year but it is good for us to have a home base. We pay state and local income tax in Ohio, but overall cost of living is comparable to some of the lower tax states for us. Our RV registration is around $50 here and insurance is almost half of the Florida rate.
We still hope to spend a lot of time in our favorite states listed above. Escapees worked really well for us and we still use their mail service while we travel. Full time RV travel was always a dream and we were very fortunate to be able to do it.

Question(s)!
Have any of you bought a piece of property in Florida, then used that address for titling purposes for an RV? And staying there a short time each year.
But yet still live or have another residence in another state?
I was under the impression that Florida is a dual residency state, where many folks live there some & in another state, as their domicile state.
Considering what to do, & how to do it, but we will not be "full timing"! However, do plan to travel a significant amount of time each year!
Trying to learn about what is best to do!
Thanks
