Roof drain screen - 2017 Dutch Star

In the coming weeks, we will be camping under trees shedding pine needles. I recall reading a post from someone who designed a wire mesh screen to place over the roof drains to keep the pine needles from entering the drain tubes. Can someone refer me to that post.

Thanks,

Rex

LK23...I also had read the earlier threads & posts regarding the 4 roof
drains. Hoping to give you a hand, I searched on this forum, "Cleaning
The 4 Roof Drains" and found quite a bit of info that may be helpful. Not
knowing any other way to do it, I suggest you likewise make this search.
I trust you'll find what you're looking for. Larry

Rex you could also buy an appropriate sized 'bug guard' at CampingWorld that is used to cover the intake/outake of the Suburban/Atwood furnaces and water heaters.

Gary,

That's a great idea. I need to get on the roof and see what size will fit.

Here is picture of what I put together to flush out drains. I try to go up every 1-2 months & flush them (I use a flat head screw driver to prop open covers & then once done firmly push them back down- no addtl silicone has been needed yet). It's amazing how much cleaner the coach stays having this gutter system compared to our previous Tiffin where water would just drain off sides.

Brian,

Thanks, I plan to use a device like that. However, I also want to put a screen over the top of the drain so the pine needles will not get into the drain system.
