Roof type
Getting ready to wash and clean mtr home(2005 dsdp) anyone know what type of roofing I have on this unit? I removed a roof vent (on the interior, thinking I could determine the type but they trimmed it so close that I could not tell. Thanks in advance, Roger

Most likely the Brite-Tex roof but if you give me the Vin# or the coach build number we can see what the materials are in the whole of your coach.
Or you can do it yourself by looking at this link, COM_NET, found in the NEWMAR CORP. sticky above.

007 is correct, the roof is BriteTEC. The product is tough as nails. I clean mine 2 times a year with 303 or Simple Green.

Thanks 007 and Gary. Sounds like it is Brite-tex. my vin no is 4VZBR1D995C050980. 007 I was trying to look the information up myself as you suggested but failed in doing so. Could you walk me through this so I could access information in the future?

You can call Newmar and they can email you your Build Sheet. I did and it turns out mine has an optional one-piece fiber glass roof.

Roger, you gave me the VIN# so you would input the last seven digits or letters into the Search Catalog block at the top of page which would be C050980.
COM_NET LINK
If I am not on line go to top of page showing MY ACCOUNT than type in "retail" owners name and "retail" again for password.
Link may not be available holidays or weekends.
You would add a CS if you used the coach build number that you may find on a paper sheet in some cabinet in coach.
Coach's below 2000 may not be in the files you would need to call Newmar for the information.
You have a lot to read I did not find anything for fiberglass roof so would have to surmise you have BRITE-TEK roof only clue is in the adhesives list for rubber roof glue.

Most likely a brite-tac roof. I clean mine w/Dawn dish soap (it's mild) and the wash brush on extended pole and then wash the MH sides off after. I had a fibre glass roof on an older Safari and used the same method.

Roger - On my 05 DSDP I had a bright tek roof and always used Murphy's Oil Soap. I found it cleaned really well, was gentle, and added moisturizers to the roof which should help it last a long time.

For those having a bit of difficulty with spelling (me included) the correct spelling of the roof product is BriteTEK (per the brochure).

I have a 2000 DSDP and found that the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser mop with dawn works great. My roof looks like the day it was installed. The guy next to me was cleaning his roof and looked at mine and asked if it was new.
