Rooftop Sewer Vents
Over the weekend I had my daughter up on the rig cleaning the roof (2014 Ventana). She reported that the sewer vent pipes had covers on them, and that one was closed. I am assuming they are sewer/toilet vents since they are located above the two bathrooms. Seems a bit odd to be able to close a vent pipe, no? What am I missing here?

There are covers on all the sewer vents. That does not mean they are closed. Air can still escape from them.

Assuming your Vent caps look like this, what does she mean by one was closed?

According to my cleaning detail, our vents have a circular cover that is attached by a screw and pivots open and closed. After looking at a variety of replacement caps online, I am now not entirely certain I have been given an accurate report, as I cannot find anything that comes close to matching her description.
I guess its time for the old man to climb up to the roof...

You could have her take a picture of what she is seeing.

I call that the "Hat for the Stink Pipe" and guess what. A dealer knew EXACTLY what I wanted
On my coach there are 3 tanks,, and 4 hats... (HUH) yup 4 hats. #4 is an electrical access hatch and yes it is closed. (Sat Prep)

man! I always climbed up on the roof myself, so that none of my children would get hurt doing it.... I guess I've been doing it wrong!

My son outweighs me by more than 100#'s or so. No way will I let him up on the roof since I weigh 175.

I'm in my 60's with bad knees and probably near the limit of what the built-in ladder wants to see; My daughter is a healthy and slim 26, so I let her do the climbing! She's gonna scamper up and take some pictures so I can figure out what is supposed to be open and closed. According to her the caps are attached by a screw and pivot to open and close. She says the one over the front bathroom is closed, and the one in the rear is open. I'll get this sorted out and post the results. Thanks.
