We bought our 2004 MADP last July. Upgraded from a van pulling a travel trailer. We love the motorhome - especially with 3 dogs! Have taken a couple of weekend trips and spent the month of September riding ATVs in Colorado and Utah. Getting ready to go south and spend a few weeks exploring. A couple of newbie questions:

1) Mike took the motorhome out of storage & brought it home yesterday. Can you run the coach heater before dewinterizing? It is freezing in there and we can't dewinterize until we get new filters.

2) Do you have to order a Brake Buddy or are they available at RV parts stores? We have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara.

Thank you,
Michele & Mike

Welcome Mike & Michele to the Newmar forum and irv2.
Congrats on your MADP.
By all means turn on your furnace and get warm and if your getting ready to travel check and see if a switch is on in water bay so your tanks will be warm also.
You can get a BRAKE BUDDY here.
Enjoy the forum and do post often, I have some KARMA so you feel at home.

Glad to have you on the site.

By all means, run your furnace. The one thing to watch for is to make sure you have the water heater turned off if it has an electric element until you have water in the water heater. We trip the breaker on the water heater until I have water in it.

Also, check under clubs and rallies for the South Central are and see what is happening with the Oklahoma Boomers.

Thanks for the quick responses!

Mike was not sure if the furnace was somehow reliant on the hydro-hot water system and left it up to me to find out - YIKES! Oh well, at least it got me to join in on the forum fun! I'll show him your replies and hopefully he will know what you are talking about .

Thanks again,
Michele

If your furnace is hydrohot, I would use space heaters. Check our owners manual before firing up the diesel burner.
