You may want to double check that. Race teams are not exempt, they must follow the same rules. Length limits and routes are always a hot topic at the race track among fellow racers.

Here in Utah I removed my company name/race team name from the trailer because they were considering them commercial vehicles and requiring us to stop at weigh stations.

I removed my company logo from my old trailer to avoid this and did not add my company logo/race team logo to my new trailer for this very reason.

I was going to say the same. In our series, about 75% of the teams have removed logos, sponsors, and run solid colored haulers. Most have signs stating " Not for Hire" and "Recreational Vehicle"

When looking at overall length, don't forget that tractor-trailers and straight trucks have different rules. Straight truck length laws are set by the states, not the federal rules.

RVs are specifically not covered by federal rules, and therefore governed by the states.

Agree Scott. Many have that "Not for Hire" painted on them. I didn't quite go that far but I am not driving a toterhome, just a standard diesel pusher so I figured they wouldn't bother me and they never did. I called my Haulmark Edge the bar of soap because it was just plain and white being towed behind the coach.
