If you can afford it and have the room go for the metal carport. Any type of tarp cover you put on will chafe and leave marks plus; you will have to replace it quite often.

Have friends that are very anal with their 5th wheel.and cover it every chance they get. So far in 3 years they have replaced their so called top of the line covers 2 x
No thanks as it is not worth the trouble.
Ps their front cap decal needs replacing due to shafing.

I tried a cover on a fifth wheel we owned. It was on a total of 3 months and we had mold and mildew forming on ceiling. I wouldn’t use it if you have any humidity where you’re storing it.

Had a cover on my original Class C for 1 year...after that and all the damage caused by the cover (mold, chafing and wind wear)...well just go metal.

The RV port would be a better investment and should last a long time. The cost may be $3000 or more but you can resell it, move it or re-purpose it when you are done with the RV, whereas the RV cover will need to be replaced every couple of years at $300+ a pop.

Quotes I have received so far, are above $5k for RV port. They are nice though. I do have a cover that cost me little over $400 going to have to give this some thought. Do not want damage from cover.
