We have wondered about this. We are planning to go full-time next year after DH retires and we sell our s&b...will be buying a diesel coach. Our son-in-law, who is in the Air Force, will be moving with our daughter and grandson to Biloxi (we're all currently in central Arkansas). While we want to travel quite a bit, we want to have a home base near them (grandson is only 3 and is sooo much fun!). We've started looking at places and have thought about buying some land and installing utilities, building an RV garage and a small living quarters--1 Bed, 1 Bath-- somewhere not too far from them but a bit more inland (i.e. away from hurricane storm surge) and having a place to stay if/when coach needs repairs. It's a quandary, though...since we have to sell our current s&b to purchase the coach we want, do we want to have the expense of another place? Obviously, it just depends on how much we would spend and how that would compare with the costs of staying somewhere. The $150/night type of places would definitely be out of our budget.

A little off subject but If you like the area take a look at Hilton Head RV Resort & Marina. Great place and you donít need a go fund me account. Right on the Intercoastal.
