When I moved from the Chicago area to the suburbs of Pittsburgh, there were few new words that I had to learn:

gum band = rubber band
red up = to clean, as in "it needs redding up"
plan = a housing development
yinz or yunz = plural of you

There were loads of others, but after 30 years, the memory fades.

My fav - a guy from my air force days called a water fountain a "bubbler"

Then he promptly picked on me for saying that i was "Fixin'" to do XYZ, like.. "I'm, fixin to get ready"

What the Yankees call Pop, or Soda. Southern Folks called it Dope. Or Soda dope. Mostly when referring to Coke. It was because of the Cocaine in Coke. Which is why it is called Coca Cola
It would settle an upset stomach. Well until they took the Cocaine out. And how about a Hose pipe. Y'all call it a garden hose.
Then there is the ever popular "Dinner". In the South Dinner was always around 12:00. Supper was in the evening. But Northern Folks call supper, dinner, and dinner lunch.

Lots of people say, "let's get into the Jacuzzi" meaning the hot tub. Jacuzzi is a brand name, just as Coke is for soft drinks.

Having spent a good deal of my life with the British I call the vacuum cleaner a Hoover, and still refer to the back of the car as the boot.

A subway ride is a tube journey.
