Can you post a photo of how yours is mounted? I bought a complete Sanicon 600 off of Craigslist brand new for $200 and want to install it on my Ventana 3434.

The 600 has a different mounting bracket (metal and smaller) and the exit of your unit looks like its from a sanicon 400 (5th wheel bayonet style hookup?) all looks good, just doesn't look like what is currently shipping from Thetford for the 600.

What Stuartw posted is how newmar delivers the sanicon 600oem. The retail version includes a different bracket, but is otherwise identical.

The mod is to convert the 600 into a 400, but with a rotating bayonet. This is key, and is the best way to install a sanicon600 in a newmar dutchstar or ventana prior to 2020.

I will be doing this modification and ditching the retail bracket.

Have you checked the impeller? My Sanicon is 13 years old and was running very slow too. I opened it up to find it “dirty”, but also the fins on the impeller were worn off completely. I replaced the impeller and cleaned it up yesterday. It seems to be working considerably better now, but I have yet to give it a full test.

It’s rated at 10 gallons a minute. Dumping 100 gallons should only take 10 minutes.

The old style pump, is just like a boat impeller. It's rubber and after a period of time it will get a "set". I always carried a rebuild kit in case of an emergency. On one trip, a screw that had been in the black tank for years went through the pump and destroyed the impeller. Not a fun job, but I had it back and running in about 30 minutes. I tell people the only thing that should go in the toilet is what comes out of your body and toilet paper. Moist towelettes are the worst and will clog the old style instantly.

When the turbo first came out, they were hard to find and they initially were asking around a $1000.00, which was ridiculous. A friend of mine just bought the 400 turbo for his new coach and I think he paid about $400, which is more reasonable. To me the 400 is the best design if you have room. The nose of the unit comes with a bayonet fitting that direct connects to the drain.
