Sanicon 600

FYI,
The Sanicon model 600 turbo is installed in my new coach as an option. It does not have a grey bypass. People have been asking so I thought I'd clarify. I always left the grey valve closed to use it to wash out the black anyway, so no big deal to me. The only time I would open the grey and left it open was during a wash machine cycle. I asked Thetford customer service and the grey will not drain through the pump. So for stays of over 3 days I will use the slinky hose, but for the one or two night stands, the sanicon is great.

Bill.....thanks for the info. I've actually been trying to buy a 600. No one sells them. I used the dealer locate and none of those dealers sell them. I sent a message to Thetford. They gave me another dealer to call.....nope, he can't even get a part number. Talked to Rhonda at Thetford service. She didn't say it, but I think she was embarrassed that they produced a product that only the manufacturers can buy. Her excuse, they want their dealers to learn how to install them before they start selling them, even though they've been on their website for months. Very poor marketing to me.

I'm a big user of the bypass, so I think I'll pass. Funny though, their pictures show the inlet from the waste tank, the 1.5" hose outlet and then a smaller outlet behind the 1.5" outlet. I tried to download the manual to see if that outlet was a bypass that COULD be connected, but their site won't download the manual, just the parts list, which doesn't show what I was looking for.

"Canick53"......That's the link I've been trying to download. The Manual will download page one of 26 and stop.

Mine has the 1 1/2 inch hose and with the removable garden hose adapter and the pump, it seems to be at least as fast as the slinky and soooo much easier to use.

Bill, "Canuck53" was able to email me a manual that I could open (thanks again). I found on the right side of page 7, under dumping grey, in very fine print, that as long as the hose is not going uphill, grey water will bypass.

Now back to my quest to find someone who will actually sell me one.

This is all new to me, so please excuse the dumb question, what are the advantages to this system vs the slinky hose? Stuart

Independence RV told me that Thetford will be shipping them to dealers in about a month. The turbo claims to empty 40 gal in 90 seconds.

Stuart, you should look at some of the YouTube videos. That will be better than trying to explain. But basically you don’t have to hookup, unhook and store a 3 inch hose. It will also pump uphill, over the fence into your neighbor’s yard.
