Sanicon Fix

Newmar told me today they’ve had meetings and out working on it.
Here’s the fix

Hopefully, Bill, Newmar can come up with a better fix, though yours is certainly one option. It seems to me that there was a communications disconnect between Newmar design engineers and SaniCon. How Newmar could come up with a mounting scenario that contradicts SaniCon's instructions is beyond me.

If Newmar can't find a better...and, more effective...solution, it should refund the cost customers paid for the system.

I've got my fingers crossed that the SaniCon Turbo 700 that's supposed to be installed in our new MADP 4047 won't have the problems you've experienced.

Now that I have the unit free from the coach, it’s not the pump that stinks, it’s the hose. I’ll have a new one on Monday. The cheap hose that they have used is waterproof but allows gases to pass through it. Newmar customer service told me this morning that I could not remove the Sanicon and put a regular 3 inch connector on because it wasn’t designed that way, that’s how much they know.

The real shame is they didn’t give us an electrical connector so I had to cut the wires, more poor Engineering

BTW, there is no “bracket” other than two small angle brackets. The pump can be installed either way

I wonder how Newmar will install it on newer coach’s. It would be disappointing if they fix it on newer units

It’s not the installation, it’s the hose.
I think if you only used it part time you’d be OK. I’ve had it hooked up for 4 months and it didn’t start to smell until two weeks ago. It’s the sewer gases permeating the exit hose.
But according to Newmar CS I’m not the only one complaining. Too bad they don’t listen.
If they supplied you with a new hose every three months, you’d probably be alright. The problem is the hose connectors.

Here is my bracket, Newmar has confirmed that it is a side mount bracket that should not have been installed

Sanicon Fix

Talked to Newmar today, they have more then 1/2 dozen complaints of terrible smell. They are trying to design something that will solve the problem, the pump for sure needs to be mounted the other way. The problem with those two small angel brackets is that is a lot of torque on two plastic ears of the pump. The Thetford bracket mounts to 4 ears around the pump.

Sanicon Fix

BTW Thetford and Newmar are now on the same page about the installation needing to be corrected.
