Sanicon install or let dealer?

Ordered our new DS 4362 and meeting at manufacturing plant this week for our upgrades.
Sanicon Turbo just needs twisted on and 12v, right?
If it’s that easy, no reason to have manufacturer install right? Let me know if I’m missing something.

That's exactly how mine is installed. Twist and 12V. I keep the gravity drain hose tucked away in its storage tube just in case the Sanicon fails me.

Recently "hard-piped" my Thetford Sanicon to the underside of the coach for ease of use including times when I need to extend the dump hose length (carry a 2nd Sanicon hose, all of which now connect using 1-1/2" Cam Lever couplings).

Yes it does connect to the sewer pipe has a clear elbow, a rubber hose and a bracket that Newmar engineers to hold the pump. In addition they install a switch on the wet bay panel, and provide a plastic disc that closes up are around the hose as it passes through the hole in the floor of the wet bay. Space is tighter then you think in the wet bay with Sanicon installed.

Hi Swynkoop,
Welcome to the Newmar Owners forum. Consider letting Newmar do the install. Like Stuart W posted, one gets more than just the twist to 12V. How about finding out what Newmar does on the install and then make your decision. There may be some coaches that are in final prep for shipment you could look at.

There is a difference between factory install and a DIY you should investigate further. Like you I thought I would do after market but I decided Factory would be better and easier in long run. There is another thread that discusses the benefits

Is Newmar offering the TURBO version on the 2018's?
I know that on the 2017's you could not get the Turbo version as the unit would not fit in the wet bay.

We had ours done in production on our 32017 DS & the cost (at dealer cost) was very reasonable.

Probably cheaper to have the factory do it during the build. Dealer would likely charge 3-6 hours of work, if you are lucky, and that is $300-600+ just for the labor.

But if your 4362 has 2 macerating toilets then there isn't a benefit for maceration. Only the smaller hose and being to pump a distance or uphill.

I decided it wasn't of benefit. However I did install the Waste Master system and it is clean to handle, seals tight and the hose plus an extension fit in the sewer hose storage compartment. https://www.lci1.com/waste-master

We have 2 macerating toilets and the Turbo Sanicon. The only way to go. 2 to 3 minutes to dump a full tank. No mess and easy to use. Have Newmar install while building the DS 4362. The wet bay floor is different with the Sanicon. Not worth the headache's if something goes wrong if you installer later.

Sanicon install or let dealer?

I have said this before, so here it is again..........when looking at the price of Newmar installed options, a lot of people always quote the MSRP/Retail price when debating whether to have it installed by Newmar or adding it after..........my question, how many of you paid or will pay full MSRP/Retail for your Motorhome? I hope the answer is none. The average discounts talked about on this Forum are 25-30%.
I’m just saying, be fair to yourself and minus the discount from any accessories your considering[emoji4]. Stuart

Canuck I don't have any photos handy but you can see an install by David Bott at . Only drawback is that there isn't room to bring the hose up through the bottom opening. It is just to close to the drain pipe outlet that I can't make a 90 degree turn. I investigated lots of different options, elbows, replacing the center section of the Valterra double valve etc. In the end since I don't leave it hooked up and don't plan to, its quick to attach and dump, I just put the cam lock on the end like David does in his video.

The standard hose and head along with a 22' extension fit easily into the built in sewer hose storage bin.
