Scottsdale remote hood latch

My 2003 Scottsdale hood latch cable is frozen (rust) so that it is a two person job to open the hood. Even with two people it is difficult to open. Anyone had this problem and how did you fix it?

On my 05 Scottsdale, it has always been very difficult to pop the hood. Had to always pull really hard. It finally broke about 2 years ago and while at Camp Newmar for some installations, they put in a new cable. It is still not easy to open as I feel it should be.

I would suggest getting a new cable.

The cable has to much slack in it and when its puled it will flex when pulling and not apply the release pressure.
You maybe able to attach the cable where the bend is to sidewall on engine opening area so cable will stay as rigid as possible.
Some of us can reach the latch area to release latch and pull on cable with finger to release.
