Screeching slide
Have a 2000 DSDP who's living room slide makes a gawd awful screeching noise when going out and in. I've tried all the lube recommendations, but nothing seems to help. The bedroom slide is whisper quiet. Any suggestions??

Maybe the rollers? Have someone operate the slide while you are outside trying to isolate the noise.

We do not normally lube the slides. Are the slide sidewall waxed and rubber seals cleaned with some 303 protector.
When slide drops on ramp or comes up ramp is that when you have noise?
Take a look at this post make sure everything is OK.
Newmar slide spec.

007, yes loudest when on ramp. It sounds like it's coming from everywhere. Can't isolate where it's actually coming from. The seals have a squeegee sound, but not anything out of the ordinary. The slide itself is perfectly aligned. No gap at all when retracted, and completely level when put out.

Have some one operate slide while your under slide and watch the rollers as they go up ramp may have a roller scraping the metal ramp or roller may have fallen of its holding bracket.
May have to get face down to floor and check all rollers from inside also.

Ok I'll try it. Although wouldn't the slide be going in at a strange angle if one of the rollers is off the bracket? I'll try anything at this point.

The slide will make some noise normally you have a 2000 coach NOT NEW, age will cause some noise like this old man when I try to get off the floor.
As long as everything checks out and nothing loose you maybe OK.
Your slide locks may snap or drop down which can be lightly lubed but an old slide will have some noise so lets not try to fix something that does not need fixing.

007, Yeah you're probably right. We've lived with the noise for quite awhile now, so I'll just leave it alone.

Howdy: Is there a chance that something got stuck under the slide when you had it out. We had a similar problem. Not really loud but it was a screeching sound and when I checked I found a screw between the slide floor and the unit floor and as the slide went in and out it was grinding on something.

I've looked everywhere, from being outside under the slide when moving. to laying on the floor when retracting, never seen anything. After this amount of time I think it's just the nature of the beast.
