Sealant for 2002 MADP Roof to Wall Joints

What kind of sealant is used on the vertical joints on the quarter round panels between the roof and the sidewalls?

Seams to be a lot firmer then regular silicone.

Cleaning it up for storage and noticed these starting to separate.

Thanks in advance
Dale

Sealent for 2002 MADP Roof to Wall Joints

This is what I use on sidewall joints.
https://www.geocelusa.com/product/pr...xible-sealant/

I would avoid silicone.

A call to Newmar will answer your question. When we had our 2002 DSDP I got the sealant info and wrote it down in the manuals. But I no longer remember what they were. There was a different one for around the skylight but most was Dicor.

I reworked all of these joints about three years ago because One of the rear above the bedroom started to leak during a rainstorm.

I picked out all of the original caulk which I'm sure was silicone. Used some acetone and small brass wire brush to clean the cavity then applied Clear Marine Grade Silicone. That was three years ago and it's still looks like the day I applied it.

Thanks all, I ordered some Pro Flex but will probably put some silicone on the get me through the winter. I’ll redo it next spring when I’m not under the gun, lot of rain headed my way.

Keep in mind once you apply silicone it needs to be thoroughly cleaned or the proflex will not stick and you will be doing this again soon.

If you look closely, I think you will find your coach was built with Silicone. It's lasted all these years. Why change?

Ended up using latex caulk then covered it up for the winter. I figured the caulk would be easier to clean off.
I will remove all the old sealer from the joint and reapply on a clean joint.

When you remove the old sealant just remove the old loose sealant then place the new and seal all around the roof steel screw strip with E-BOND tape as the picture showed.
2002 coach check the roof wrap at both sides of caps water can blow under there when driving ,the two in rear a driving rain with wind will force water under these seams.
If these locations are painted just check them could have dried out from sun.
Your vertical seams at caps, seams along floor level which may also be painted and than all the tops of your windows and door.

In QT's # 3 SPK64 MODS & REPAIR Section many tips for a 2002 MADP you should know about.

Your close to Newmar call them they can do ,15% less labor JAN TO MARCH.
