Just purchased a external surge guard and a external voltage regulator for my 07 MADP 4523. The surge guard has a plastic cover with a lock attachment; the voltage regulator is a large metal case with a handle on top. How do I secure these items at a campground?

Herboni, Use a cable to lock the device to the pedestal. I don't remember exactly how it's done but I know that's how they do it.

They make a locking device that clamps around the area where the power cords connect together. Here's one such device.

Surge Guard Universal Lock Hasp - Item - Camping World

This one is made of plastic, but others are made of metal.

I got tired of dealing with the portable surge guard and had a hard wired permenantly mounted unit installed in the power compartment.

Here are a couple of threads that you may find interesting using surge & autoformer.
THREAD #1

THREAD #2

They have wiring kits where you could wire extra cable and plug so you could hook everything up in your electric bay. Remove shore line from Transfer Switch and use kit to wire into TS than hook up SP & AT. Everything would be secure in electric bay.

First I will tell you that some parks, if they see that auto-former (Voltage regulator) may ask you to leave. What's worse.. Those are the parks where you are most likely to need it.

SO.. Let's solve two problems at once...... Mine is installed inside the motor home, it is secured by locking the front door, and of course by the fact that it is "hidden" from casual sight.

The surge guard (power line monitor) should very likely be installed post-autoformer

The same install kit can handle both in fact (putting it in front of the auto former, unless you can re-set the low-voltage cut off, negates the effect of the auto former)

Hi Herboni,
Like wa8yxm I installed my devices (the same as yours) inside the coach.
