Seeking Advice on DSDP 4018

I am 1 week from placing my order at my dealer for my first ever motorhome. I would love to get feed back on the configuration I have come up with.
I have never RV'd, never done anything except tent camping. I am intending to live full time in my RV with my dog Gabby.
Please feel free to offer anything and everything. This is a big leap for me, but I am nothing but excited to take it.
So here goes:
I am ordering a 2015 Dutch Star 4018
Expected delivery in June
Options:

Noka Interior
King Aire Montego Counters
Essex Chevron floors
Euro cabinets (like in King Aire but not glossy)
2- 15M Heat Pumps
Washer/Dryer
Maytag Refer
2800 sine wave inverter
AGM batteries
Drawer Dishwasher
Dormi Sofa
Euro Booth Dinette
Heated Seats
Sleep Number King Mattress
Energy Management System
Power Rewinds
Solar prep 4 x 6gauge
Chrome Mirrors
Keyless entry and baggage locks
Sliding storage tray
Mcd Power Shades
Safe (don't tell anyone)
Heat pads on holding tanks
Kitchen Window
Full length Girard awnings

I am having the fireplace converted to a desk area

Color scheme:
Base - Labrador Black Pearl
color A - Biscotti Orange Metallic
Color B - Merlot Red Metallic
Color C - Sunset Orange Metallic

Most everything else is stock.

So what should I add or subtract?

Thank you in advance for your input.

-Is it all electric? If not, the ONLY item that runs on propane is the two burner cooktop. To me, it isn't worth using a bay for a large propane tank just to power a cooktop.

-I would upgrade the microwave/convection.

-There is a sewer hose door and tube above the driver's side rear wheel which is useless.

-If you like TV, I would add the HDMI upgrade. Mine came with standard definition DVD players. I upgraded that to BlueRay. Again, if not a big TV watcher, not an issue.

-The LED upgrade is a nice option.

I'm sure some others will have some favorites.

I believe HDMI and BlueRay are standard now.

Upgrade the microwave, for sure.

Freezer prep in the basement, even if you don't add a freezer. 12 volt and 120 volt power there can be used for many things.

Additional 120 volt outlet in basement forward most compartment on the drivers side.

Extra 120 volt with USB by the main seating area. I prefer 1 on each side to charge your phone or tablet.

Additional 12 volt power outlets around driver seating. For dash mounted nav and towed break monitor etc...

We are just taking delivery of a 4018. We went with the two recliners instead of a faux fire place. We live between Florida And Michigan and are used to a real fire place in our homes and didn't want one in motor home. We also opted not to have a dish washer and speced the drawer size to hold our pots and pans and it came out great. We do not use our dishwasher at home very often and rather have the storage. That's what worked for us, our new Duthstar is great.good luck!

Also waiting on a DS4018 in June

Seeker,

Our selections were a bit different than yours, but we have a year or so of Class C experience under our belts, and know how we generally use our motorhome and decided to "fit our lifestyle".

Selections involve taste, comfort and needs, along with a bunch of wants as well.

Here is what we decided upon:

Exterior: Nougat
Interior: Toffee
Cabinets: Verona Maple

Upgrade to 15K AC/Heat Pumps
All electric with 22 Cf. Maytag, Induction Cooktop, and 2800 watt inverter
Central vacuum

Sirius/XM radio (did not get the Clarion GPS, had it in our class C and found it basically unusable. will use my Garmin RV760)

Combination Desk with Buffet Table
Door side Dormi Sofa with 48" TV on Televator, 2 recliners and table off doorside.

Queen Bed layout (more room and larger nightstands)

EMS
Power Reels for Elect and Water
AGM Batteries
Painted Power Baggage Doorlocks, Keyless Entry, etc.
Heated pads for holding tanks.

Simple, clean yet it should fit our needs.
Hope yours work out well for you and yours.

Best wishes.

Dutch Star Don - I love to cook on gas, as a matter of fact after receiving my MH I will be installing a Wolf cook top in the place of the 3 burner that comes with. Perfect logic though on the use of the bay.
Mine comes with HDMI and LEDs throughout
I don't use the microwave at all and intend to replace it with a Quartz Oven
Thank you for your insights

PDR John - Great idea about the extra outlets. That makes perfect sense.

Gheidbrink - I am having the fireplace removed and that spot will be the knee space for my desk. I work on the road.
Thank you for your wishes

Clyde - Yours sounds very attractive and useful.
Thank you, best luck with yours as well

Welcome to the forum and irv2, Dale.
I will only say the Micro/convection I have is easier than gas oven I had in my other coach's.
Here is a Brochure and Owners Guide for you.
Below in my signature are links to many more for your to be Newmar.
If you look in QT's # 3 and the HOOT's threads many Mod's to their 4018's.
Good luck in your new coach to be and safe travels.

Seeker if you are looking at a quartz oven take a look at the GE Advantium option. Even though you don't use microwave features it sure is handy to have on occasion

My better half likes to cook with gas as well, but at home. When traveling she wouldn't use anything but an induction cooktop. Wait til you're somewhere hot, like upper 90's, and start cooking with gas in that small space. You might want to reconsider.

Hi Seeker,

Interesting interior combinations with the King Aire counter are they quartz or still Corian? The Euro cabinets still used the DS layout but with Euro? How much extra were those specials?

Sounds like you took full opportunity of the various choices. Was there anything you asked for that they did not agree to?

Happy Travels sounds like fun.

another add

On an all electric coach, I would (and did) swap the Magnum Hybrid inverter for the standard 2800 watt version. This will add to the versatility of the electric outlets that you can use and keep the DW happy with the power available.

We were quartered beside a 4018 over Christmas. I really love that floorplan.

Congrats! You're going to love it.
