Seeking info on factory order of DS 4018

Hello all -- We are planning to full time next year and are going to order a new Dutch Star 4018 as soon as the 2017s come out. We are paying cash, and plan to shop dealers for the best discount. We have a couple of questions:

1. When does Newmar typically release it's new model year?

2. When ordering a new coach, how much of a deposit it typically required? Or, do dealers require you to pay in full before the rig is built?

3. Would appreciate any suggestions on good dealers / salespeople.

We really enjoy reading this forum and have learned so much from all of you. Thank you for inspiring our retirement dreams!

Contact NIRVC (National Indoor RV Center). Have Atlanta and Texas locations.

We ordered a Bay Star Sport and only put 5% down. My take is you should start seeing 2017 info in the late spring.

We just ordered a 2016 Dutch Star 4018 this week and are currently waiting for a delivery date!

I selected National Indoor RV Center in Lewisville, TX for a couple of reasons; 1) They had really positive reviews on this forum, 2) I like their business model. They provide sales and service, which includes indoor storage, maintenance and detailing.

Bobby Tackett is my "Life Style Specialist" and can be contacted at:

Bobby Tackett
RV Lifestyle Specialist
National Indoor RV Centers
Direct Line 469-277-8395
Cell # 903-241-5554

We ordered a number of options and specials and our deposit was $10,000.

If you have any questions, please feel free to direct message me. I'd be delighted to talk to you on the phone if you prefer.

You might want to add Midway RV in Gr. Rapids MI to your list. Chad DeMaat has a very good reputation both in the market and at Newmar.

I second to recommend Midway. Both Chad and and Kyle are knowledgable and fair.

Newmar will be hosting their Dealer meeting the first week of April. This is the meeting when they will introduce the 2017's. They will start to accept orders for 2017 at that time. Also around that time order sheets with the 2017 MSRP will be available. Yes, prices will go up.

When ordering, the deposit amount along with the terms and conditions are negotiated with the selling dealer. I wouldn't expect to have to put more then 5%-10% down payment on an order, unless you are special-ordering a coach that could be difficult to sell should you not close on the purchase.

While you have some excellent suggestions above for sales people and dealers, I would also add Mike Siy at Albany RV (RV One).

I see you're in Missouri. We're working on an order for a Ventana 3436 with Dave Roe at Coachlight RV in Carthage and are happy with the process so far.

We received a Newmar order sheet nod selected the options we wanted, as well as any specials. Since I was going to pick up the coach at the factory I emailed a cover letter to 10-12 well respected dealers across the country. After receiving their bids we narrowed the dealer down and this process resulted in a very positive experience. Got what we thought was the best deal and took delivery a the factory. I highly recommend the factory delivery, well worth the money to us. We completed all of the paperwork via email and then finally met the dealer two months after we picked the coach. We chose Steinbring Motor Coach in North Dakota. It was a fun and very memorable experience.

North Trail RV - Fort Myers

I suggest you also include NTRV in Fort Myers Florida. They sell more Newmar Motorhomes then any other dealer. They also have one of the largest Newmar inventories. Right now they over 40 new 2016 Dutchstars.

My salesperson is Ray Gering. He is a trained Newmar specialist. Give him a call at 239 633-8935 or send him an email ray.gering@northtrailrv.com

Another thumbs up for Dave Roe at Coachlight RV. I went out for quotes to 10 dealerships (no trade) and nobody came close to Dave on price. The only other dealership in the running was NIRVC in Lewisville TX and they were over $6,000 higher. Coachlight required a 5% deposit which I thought was reasonable for a custom order. Dave also does a great job of managing the "specials" process, he's been doing this with Newmar for years.

You should expect to see the 2017 models introduced at the dealer show in May.

This is another vote for North Trail RV in Ft. Myers, Florida. "Diesel" Dan Cutting was the rep. Very knowledgeable and a very pleasant sales and subsequent service experience.
