Servicing Tires
I've been carrying a Husky 120 volt air compressor around to adjust the air in my Bounder tires.....on the DSDP, will the air source available from near the generator have enough capacity to air up the tires to around 105 pounds? Never tried it before and I'd like to be able to get rid of the Husky. Thanks!!

I would suggest you let some air out of a tire, and give it a try.

It should be enough. I can get my front tires up to 122#.
I would suggest getting your coach weighed to verify that 105# in the front is enough.

The engine compressor should easily get you to 105. On my MADP I easily get to 115. The secret is to keep the compressor running while filling the tire. I frequently let pressure out of the system to start the compressor then attach the hose to the tire valve to fill.

Ours is under the hood to the right above the headlight assembly.

I would keep the huskey...it is quieter than your coaches engine, just trying to be a good neighbor, and with 115# for my fronts it will fill them quicker than the engine..jmho

Renden,
115 psi is about right for the 14,400 lb front axle. 110 psi for the weight and about 5 psi extra.

If I max out my front axle (20,000 lb), I need 120 lbs in the tires. Which my air tank won't give me. But we're light on the front right now (17,240), so I only need 105.

Flying Driver,
Your air tank probably won't get you to 100 lbs, but I bet the compressor will get you to 120 lbs or very close.
I had the compressor governor set to max while at Spartan and while the compressor is running I can get to 120. Thats the max for my tires and rims.

I always do fill the tires with the engine (and compressor) running. Can't get to 120 - just not enough flow at that pressure differential. I'm not sure what the max is set to on my compressor, I should ask next time we're at Spartan.

Al, you are correct on tire pressure and weight...had all corners weighed last summer and will weigh again this summer
