Sewer Hose Hatch In Wet Bay

2017 Ventenna Le 4037. Second owner.

I find it difficult to attach my sewer hose even though I use a 90-degree adapter. I do not use a macerator pump as the pump was removed.

It appears that the hatch cover opening is too narrow. Has anyone had the same problem and how did they resolve? I noticed that there are larger hatch covers at 6-inch and 8-inch opening. The 6- inch would only increase the opening by 3/4 of an inch. The eight-inch would be best but the whole hatch with the rim is 10 inches. Either way, the bottom of the compartment would have to be modified.

That's a pretty easy mod using a deck cover available at boat supply stores.

You can tilt it up to put the 90 on. Some don't know it moves.

I use a short clear extension along with the 90 degree elbow to extend the connection down below the hatch.

I have the same problem. Looks like either the pipes coming from the tanks are a bit to short so getting the 90 filling on is a challenge. I looked at increasing the size of the opening, but there is a metal support member on the underside that would need to be cut out.
I ended up cutting off a couple of the nubs on the 90 fitting which gives me just enough room to get it attached.

.... and when you stay hooked up if you want to seal the space around the hose from critters, buy a rubber 'sewer donut' and slit it. It will fit around the hose and fill in the space except for a 1/2" or so. In that, get some steel wool and fill in the hole.

I bought a soft rubber "anti-fatigue" mat at Home Depot, cut a hole the size of the hose, and a slit between the hose hole and the edge of the mat. Seals that space very well and works to keep vermin out and cold air out in the winter but still lets out any spills.

F your problem is the 90 , once attached to the drain, wonít fit through the hole in the floor, try a valterra brand 90. They are shorter . I had a post about this problem. The rhinoflex 90 would not work.
