I have a 50A at my house and my warehouse anything less doesn't let me run everything when needed... I like to keep the a/c on when its at the house so 50amp is a must... If you plan on running a 30A you mite as well run a 50A its the same labor and the cost of parts is just a little more...

Just getting rid if our hot tub so re-ran the 50amp circuit to the garage and installed the box ourselves. No major cost involved as we already had the wire and 50amp GFI breaker.
Had friends spend a few days over in their coach and we were able to offer them 50amp service. What are friends for...
Always had 15 amos befire but glad to ge able to use 50 amos in the future.

Ideally a 50a service. But typically not needed. Dedicated 20a household curcuit ok for battery charging and refrigerator - but can be marginal for sir conditioning.

I have a dedicated 30a circuit. Was installed for our first RV which was 30a. We now have 50a RV but no need/desire to upgrade it. We have used the RV for a few months while work was bring done on the house. It worked out ok. And we often camp with 30a service in campgrounds. We've also had friends with RV visit and mooch-dock on our 30a.

Get a price for both 30a and 50a. Sometimes the difference can be small - sometimes not (due to variables in the installation). Then decide.

Without 50A polishing the wet bay would be difficult. Very true. You have to really think through your scenarios so you don't have to do it twice. Back to polishing my brass check valve...

I put a 50amp in and never looked back. I can keep the coach cool and have even used it as overflow when family comes over. The electrician was working in my neighborhood and the total install was less than $175.00.

Do it right the first time and you'll never have to do it over! Neither will you have lingering regrets for not doing it right the first time.

Have an electrician install a 50A RV circuit.

Might work for some rigs but not mine. My 240 volt dryer takes almost 30 amps alone. Then there's the 3 15k heat pumps, heated floors, dual electric elements in the Aqua Hot, Advantium micro/convection and induction cooktop.

Wow! Absolutely amazed by the responses, thank you all.

Yeah, I think I'll go ahead and put in the 50A. Electrican's quote is $675, but he does have to run all the across the house, in the house. I would like to have everything in the RV working as I would at a park. Good guest cottage as well.

Thanks again.

Just make damn sure that the electrician knows that it is for an RV.....

50 amp, have one in the garage in the RV bay and one on the front of the garage for guests. 15 or 20 amp nothing but a PITA because you have to be selective in what you try to run. The price difference in installing 30a vs 50a isn’t enough to consider. Put in the 50 amp and you’ll never have to,ask yourself can I turn this on.

Want to clean up after a trip turn on the ac units, fire up the vacuum cleaner while the water heater is running easy.

Life is no fun with unnecessary restrictions.

So your rig has a service larger than 50 amps?
