Shore power cord 2013 BayStar

We need an extension cord for shore power. Is this the right one to plug the RV into a regular receptacle at home (actually at our home office).

We need to run our furnace overnight because temps will be in the low 20's overnight here in the Carolina's. We use our 2013 Newmar BayStar as an office, so the only thing that will be on is the furnace.

Thanks in advance!

When I run just the heater, I use a standard heavy duty extension cord (can't tell the gauge since it is not currently available). The extension cord is only used to run the fan since our furnace runs on propane.

Hi ICUMobile Ch,
For your situation, Romeo's post has the cheapest solution. You'll need an adapter for the coach shore power cord to the extension cord. Be very careful using any external 30 AMP sockets. Some are wired for 120 VAC 30 AMPS (good for the coach). Most are wired for 240 VAC 30 AMPS (bad for the coach).

If you only have 30amp service cord here is a bunch of different adapters from 30amp to 15amp, 50amp to 30 to 15amp and so forth.
Some are dog bones some are just adapters.
Didn't realize Bay Stars only had 30amp service thought all Newmars had 50 amp service cords.
You would run a standard power cord for 15 or 20 amp service cord to outlet on side of house or building from adapter.

Just curious if you have a 50 amp service cord in a coach you need a different size cord to plug into a 20 amp breaker at home? I have a Bay Star also with a 50 amp service cord and adapters but now not sure about size of extension cord to use. Did not mean to get involved where I shouldn't but am curious.

You need your shore cord of 50A. Then these

That will get you to a 15A outlet. However, if that's a GFCI, sometimes they can trip and you won't know it. But your batteries should be good enough to last a whole night with the furnace anyway.
