Shrink wrap your coach for winter?

Anyone ever try these uv resistant shrink wrap kits for a 44' DP? In theory it looks like a reasonable way to protect your investment...that won't rub your paint the way the cloth kits do. Looks like $600 or so does the job each winter. Any recommendations? Brands or suppliers? Tx

I have never considered this. My first thought is that it would cause moisture to be trapped and cause a mold or mildew problem.

Can you elaborate on the benefits of the wrap?

We have had our boats shrink wrapped for years. A good marina will put some kind of moisture absorption inside, a couple of pans of charcoal works. They also add small vents. Usually the inside is left open to allow air to flow. In your RV that would mean leaving something open like vents or windows.

I honestly have not heard of shrink wrapping an RV. The cost is a bit high and with boats they "tent" the top to allow snow to fall off. That would be tougher on a large MH. If it works as well as on boats your rig should come out as nice as it was in the fall. It all depends on how well it is done though.

Just my .02 worth

The shrink wrap cost might be about the same as a cover however. With the cover you can use it for a few years while the shrink wrap will only last until you remove it.

Do not forget You will have to check your mouse traps and re-bait them after removing any left overs.
