Sidewall Replcement

Has anyone had their coach sidewall replace by Newmar because of paint checking? If you had it done were you pleased with the results? Thanks for your time

Welcome to the forum, DS Tom
Yes some have had their sidewalls replaced by Newmar when there was a spell of sidewalls cracking from defective manufacturing of the fiberglass.
This Newmar search should give you some answers. Go back in pages for some of the pricing that maybe involved.
Here is a link for more info on your Newmar.

Sidewall Replcement

Good job it’s a Newmar, if it were one of the other manufacturers with Vacuum bonded walls (modular one piece wall) the entire structure would need to be removed including everything attached to the inside walls like cabinets, wiring, appliances and counters.
If you ever wanted another wire run in that wall this might be a good time to have it added. Just a thought

Our 2008 Zephyr has had 3 sidewall replacements in its life span. In Red Bay now, just about to finish a 4 month repair. 7 months in 2016. This will be the 3rd. Paint job. No longer Black!
Went with lighter colors. yuk

We had our 04 Essex side walls replaced in Oct. of 2011. It was a 6 week time to get it done. We choice all new colors and Newmar did a outside job on both the fiberglass and paint. It cost us 14K but our coach was 7 years old when we had it done and I am sure it would have been over 40K any other location. It was like a new coach when we got it back. Newmar service at the factory is the best you can get. We had our Essex for 7 more years after the work and it still looked great. No other RV company stands behind their motor homes like Newmar did. We love our 18 London Aire which is our 3rd Newmar.

Had the 05 KSDP done in 15. Watch the paint. Newmar did not use their master piece finish. I also had done:
1. frameless windows
2. new main awning
3. new slide toppers
4. painted 2015 King Aire colors

Parts only on items 1, 2, 3. This is because they must remove the old to do the sidewall replacement.

I had my sidewalls replaced and the coach repainted two years ago by Newmar - had the paint checking. They will repaint with whatever colors you want but you must have the same pattern. I went with lighter colors and they did a great job. People think it is a new coach.
