I have it in my Magna. It's connected to the VMS 440 CL in the dash and controls things like the tank levels, incoming power, battery voltage, can monitor any of the outside cameras from inside, water tank fill can be set to automatically fill the fresh water tank when the level gets too low, even the floor heat settings can go through it. In my case I have two thermostats to control the floor heat rather than going through the SilverLeaf system.

Many others will be able to tell you more about it. But here's a link:

The VMSPC made by Silverleaf, is a jib that plugs into the underdash connection, and a program that runs on a laptop. It allows you to custom configure a dashboard on your laptop, using parameters from the engine/transmission.
You can configure your gauges to be red/green/yellow radio buttons based upon values you define. You can create details, color the backgrounds, etc. I've create a white space where I have my predefined warning or notice messages pop up, or can even play a wav file of your voice saying for instance "downshift, overheating". The green box at the bottom catches any engine/transmission/brake error codes. I have a combination of easy to see at a glance the status (radio buttons), and the detail numbers if I want to know exactly a parameter. You can also have text fields.
Here's mine.

"vett"......Silverleaf has been around for a long time. They make several items. They initially offered a box, a little bigger than a cigar box, that sat atop of your dash and gave you engine information, directly from the ECM, versus engine sensors. The boxes were expensive and a little obtrusive. Later, they started offering the program, that reads your ECM info, for free. Just download it to any laptop or notebook. The program was free, but the cable to connect to your engine diagnostic port was about $200.00.
I've been running a laptop with their program for almost ten years. As a matter of fact, I don't start my engine without the Silverleaf on. It gives me very accurate information, again, directly from the ECM. You can design the screen anyway you want, from bar graphs, to digital to analog displays. Mine shows, speed, oil pressure, voltage, trans temp, etc.
Silverleaf also makes very HIGH END dashes that run about $10K. The dash is all glass with a digital display.
Monaco and a few other companies use to offer a whole coach system called Aladdin. It would provide information from engine operation to tank levels in your coach. Eventually, they went out of business leaving a hole in the market. They also left a lot of broken Aladdin systems with no repairs or parts. Silverleaf began making a program that interacted with the Aladdin system, allowing people to use their Aladdin system again.
Most recently, Silverleaf is producing their own whole coach systems. I believe that's where you're hearing about Silverleaf, being used in Newmar coaches to manage just about everything on the coach.

Ed on higher end coaches it is also the control system for most of the items on the house side of the coach. Lights, heat, air conditioning, power, pumps can all be controlled with the proper control modules. They even have a module to let you control from a tablet. Newmar coaches Moutain Aire, London Aire, Essex and King Aire all come with the Silverleaf control system. Dutch star and lower have the standard control units for each system.
And then as others have mentioned they make electronic dashes, standard on the 2017 King Aire, and both wired and wireless connections to the coach data us to see information on the engine.

Looks like a lot of people missed post #2 and the included link. OP wasn't asking about the VMSpc, he asked about the whole control system. There's a big difference.
I bought a VMSpc back in 2000 or 2001, to fit our '00 DSDP. Still have it, just bought a new connector to fit the '02 DSDP when we bought new. The present '09 Magna came with the system as standard equipment.
The glass dash is down to about $6,000 now for a retrofit.

The Silverleaf coach monitor system is standard on the Newmar luxury diesel coaches (Mountain Aire and up). It is not available on the lower diesels and gas coaches. Aftermarket installation can be done, but it would be complicated and very expensive. Silverleaf Electronics also builds diesel engine monitoring systems. The top of the line "Glass Dash" which replaces the instrument panel is used on the King Aire. All the engine monitoring systems are available on the after market.

Here is a link to a FMCA video discussing the VMS-350. From seeing info on ComNet I believe this is the unit Newmar uses in the luxury models.

Looking at adding a VMSpc to our 2005 DS
Having had a lot of information available on my last TV, the VMSpc looks pretty interesting. How easy is it to install? Is it just plug Silverleaf box into the diagnostic port and then a laptop/tablet plugged into Silverleaf box? Any other connections?
Just have to find a good place to mount a tablet
Thanks
Doug
