Silverleaf in a DSDP
Has anyone tried to get an integrated Silver Leaf dash on a Dutch Star like an Essex has from the Newmar factory? Not as an aftermarket add-on, either.
If so, what was the cost?
Thanks!

Frank, are you referring to the Silverleaf Total Coach system that is standard in the Luxury Lines?
I asked about it for the Dutch Star and was told no way!

It was an interesting process working through specials with Newmar. They are generally pretty accommodating on most requests but some features are completely off limits. I had requested a chrome entry door latch and that one came back immediately as a no, I was told that part is reserved for the King Aire only. On the other hand, there was plenty that I requested from the Mountain Aire that was approved which I thought would be denied.
You just have to ask and see where it gets you. At the end of the day it is amazing that we can get a coach built to so many of our specifications outside the standard equipment and options list ... gotta love Newmar. Tiffin and Entegra wouldn't entertain any of it!

Yeah, all these available options are costing me so much, i might end up with a Mountain Aire! Once I actually buy a coach next year, I won't know what to do with my time!

it never hurts to ask, but my guess is that they will say no to the Total Coach system. It requires addition of RVC communication bus wiring, different tank gages and sensors, different transfer switch (which I tried to special order and was denied), AC interface and Oasis interface, generator interface, etc.
The Silverleaf system is one of the major differentiators between the luxury line and the regular diesel pushers.
I wonder if Silverleaf would do an aftermarket install or sell the parts for a complicated do it yourself installation?

I think you can still get a silver leaf engine monitor as an after market add on. I transferred it from my 01' DS. Love it.

Well, it's not the same thing!
And I transferred our VMSpc from the '00 FL/CAT DSDP to our present '02 Spartan/Cummins DSDP.
