Slide gasket replacement

The metal core of the gasket around the LR slide on our 01 DutchStar has rusted out. I've located a couple of possible online sources for replacement gaskets:

Clean Seal, Inc.
Uni-Grip Incorporated

Before I try to figure out which of the many cross-sections available match what I need (anyone know?), I have a couple of questions:

1. Anyone done this? Is removing and replacing the slide gasket a DIY job? It looks like the gasket can be accessed by moving the slide partially in or out and working from either the inside or outside of the coach.

2. The current gasket core rusted due to the failure of what appears to be double-sided tape to prevent moisture from seeping inside the gasket. I'll ask the two suppliers above when I contact them, but anyone know if the tape comes with the replacement gasket? If not, anyone know of a source for the tape?

Any other suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

I suggest contacting Jeannie in Newmar parts for a price on the gasket as you will be assured a getting the correct one. She would probably know about the tape also.

Newmar customer service may be able to provide instructions on the best way to replace the gasket.

Looks like I should have included something in the title about "overnighting at WalMart" if I wanted to get more responses...
