We have a huge problem with our door side slide in the garage not moving. The control voice says the slide is unlocking, but it is already unlocked and then it just doesn't move. We are trying to go out of town, but the slide is not flush at the top of the coach on the outside, plus the automatic locks aren't locked, so we are stuck. The millions of manuals don't give any information on how to manually move the slides, or adjust, or reset. If anyone can offer advise, we would appreciate it!

I am not an expert. Until one chimes in I will try to help. Can you push, with your hands, while safely clear, to help move the slide? Can you tilt the chassis with the jack system to help? Make sure of your clearance as you said you are in a garage! I am of the opinion that all systems have a manual operation for emergency, I don't know your system, but look for a place in the drive line that will allow for , maybe, a ratchet drive.

If you know where the control unit is try unplugging the wiring into control unit.
Wait a few minuets than replug. Stay clear of slide when someone plugs wiring back in control unit. If it moves let it do its thing than try using it as normal.
You have checked the battery wiring into control both + & - ground maybe on chassis frame.
I do not believe there is any reset button on control unit but unplugging it may do same thing.

Skipper is right. Call Newmar. They will walk you through a temporary fix. We have had two broken slides and at least 8 bad proximity switches on our 09 DSDP. With enough people you can manualy push it in. Newmar also had me hot wire one to get it in. In the end you need to end up at the Newmar dealer so it can be fixed correctly.

Thanks everyone! The dealer we bought from was wonderful -- Howard RV in Wilmington NC. Bill got the tech on the phone with us and walked us throug hot wiring it to get it closed. He then got the Newmar rep to get it in a shop (we live in Maryland!) for the repair. It is currently getting a new motor. Hopefully our problems will be over and we can continue to enjoy our travels! For a new RVer, this site is absolutely wonderful! You all have really helped us a lot without even knowing it!!

Glad to hear Howard RV helped! We had all the warranty issues with our coach taken care of there, John, Bill and their staff were great even though we did not purchase our coach there !
Unfortunately, they no longer seem to be a Newmar dealer (read that somewhere on Newmar's site) . Hopefully they can still do warranty service on them, it would be a great loss if they could not.
