June 15th we were at Camp newmar to have warranty work done. One item was the lock arms would not work. they replaced modual, lock arms worked. Came home. 1st time out, arms released but slide don't work. call Newmar and they direct me to modual in basement to reprogram. All is well. Go to another site, same thing. By memory I go under and reprogram again. Come home. Yesterday take it out of garage to clean, same thing. This time I call Newmar, and they call the modual Mfg. With his directions I reprogram again, Works ok. 2 hours later, same thing. I called Newmar and set an appt for the 28th of Aug. Guess I will have to crawl in the basement to put slide out until then unless someone one this site has some idea.............Thanks VACMAN

I would check for loose plug into control unit and the 12v battery & ground feed into it. Somethings loose every time you move coach its coming loose.

There are also proximity switches that "tell" the slides when to put out the locking arms. I am having problems with the large living room slide locks that sounds like yours. Sometime they work sometimes they don't. When mine does not work I can tap it with a butter knife handle or if slide if out I use an extended handle brush to tap it, and it operates. Next time maybe it works and maybe not. The slide modules have been replaced and still have the "maybe" problem. My dealer is now messing around with adjusting the proximity switches. The hard part is my dealer has fixed two slides many (one if them FOUR) times and they operate fine until some later time when they become hit or miss. This time the front slide worked repeatedly after the dealer tech worked on it, but before the coach was moved I came along and it did not operate correctly. Frustrating. If and when you get a permanent fix please post what it was.

When the slide is in and I push on the slide switch I get the voice saying the locks are unlocking etc. BUT the slide does not unlock and after the voice recording is finished nothing else happens--absoultely NOTHING. I then tap on the face of the closed lock. So far each and every time I have tapped on the slide the slide operates just like it is supposed. When the slide is out and I push on the switch, I again get the voice and then nothing. I tap on the same face of the slide with an extended handle brush or windshield squeege and it again operates just as it is supposed to. So far so good, but really want them to work like they are supposed to all the time.

There was a thread in old forum about water leaking into slide lock. The water from rain while out may have cause some corrosion on some contacts within the switch. If you can remove the switch and clean with a contact spray cleaner you may get your switch's working again. I'm not sure but someone design a rubber flap to keep water out of switch while slide is extended.

I'm the one who had the problem with the water entering through the locking arm when the slide was out. At that time, the whole locking arm system was new to me. When the slide moved out and reached the end of it's travel, the locking arm came out as if the slide was inside the coach. Big rain storm, and water leaked into the cabinet above the J-sofa. Had to be removed, dried, re-installed, etc.
Since the dealer fixed the issue, it has only happened one time on a different slide. But now I know to listen for the lock arm opening when I open the slides. I just push the button until it closes and release.
My coach is an '07 DSDP model 4307.

I would be glad to state how I reprogramed the slide at the modual in the basement, But, The tech at the Mfg. co that makes the unit said that the modual won't effect the lock arms. I did not understand completly. But when I did the reprogram it only effected the slide only..Vacman
