While using the Sani-Con this morning to empty the black/gray tanks, I spotted a bolt and nut on the wet bay floor. Further examination revealed that the bottom, front bolt was missing from the gray water slide-valve flange. Fortunately, there was no sign of leakage.

When we were at Newmar in June, they removed much of the wet bay to work on an issue. I think that included removing the Sani-Con system, which would have included removing the flange bolts. I'm guessing it is possible that one bolt was simply forgotten and not installed. Odd, however, that I would not have noticed it until now. I try to be pretty observant about things like that.

I re-installed the bolt and checked all the others for tightness. Only one other was slightly loose; a half-turn. Has anyone experienced these bolts working loose? Or, did I just miss the loose bolt and nut laying there?

Haven't noticed it, but being the paranoid type, now when the sun comes up tomorrow, I'm going to be under there checking it. I'm tempted to get that little bottle of red drops that you put on the threads that lock the bolt from accidentally backing out from vibration. I don't need to find bolts casually rolling around on the wet works tray.

Hope you never find a bolt bolting from its home again.

The nuts on the slide valve usually have serrations on the back to lock them into the plastic when tight . On a second use the serrations may have worn down ; or the plastic chewed up enough that they cant grab onto it.

Loc-tight , blue removable , red is for stuff you're very sure you'll never have to take apart.

I've even borrowed DW's nail polish in a pinch.
