I have a 2008 Grandstar . The driver side slide out has 5 rollers under it . 3 are on the hard wood floor and 2 are on the carpet at the front. The one in the center (under the refer) keeps blowing out the bearings and colapses . We have had 4 replaced to date . 3 different Newmar shops have performed the work . The techs that replace the rollers have all said the same thing . That is just going to happen again .
I at my wits end with this coach . Are there any other Grandstar owners out there with this problem ?

John

It's not a Grand Star problem, but a Newmar problem.

Most of us have had roller problems.

We just have to replace them when they fail.

Why not call Newmar directly? You might have the wrong roller in that position. There is seldom any comparison between the knowledge at a Newmar shop and the horses mouth in Nappanee. Give them a call.

Thanks for the comments .

I am in constant contact with Newmar directly. They are always saying they will work with us . But that just doesn't cut it . This is my first Newmar and generally i am totally impressed with the craftsmanship . But there has to be a roller they can put in there to solve this problem .

John, Newmar will have to come up with a roller that can support the added weight in that section under refrigerator. I have been looking for different rollers to do that still looking. Their MFG of the rollers must have different type bearings for weight class.

Take an old roller to a machine shop and have them make you one out of aluminum and have them install some high weight load bearings. They can certainly find bearings capable of high loads to fit into a newly machined roller and then hold them in place with snap rings. So it might cost a few hundred bucks-

What's peace of mind worth to you in your beautiful MH investment anyway?
