We had a problem soon after we purchased our DP4304 with the locking arms on one of the slideouts. The problem was the magnetic proximity switch that tells the computer when to disengage or engage the slide locks. I solved the problem when I called Newmar to find out where the switch was located on the slideout having the problem. I had to elongate the adjustment holes on the bracket that holds the switch to adjust it closer to the metal plate that trips the switch. It has worked ever since. Seems as if the same problem has now ocurred in a different slide. The switch can be seen from the outside of the coach and is difficult to get to. I had scheduled a service visit to the dealer where I purchased the coach to take care of some others items (i.e, keyless entry system, HydroHot service, etc.) The RV Tech tested the slideout with his portable Newmar switching box that plugs into the control box in the basement. The slide locks on the bedroom slideout worked without fail when he tested them. When he went to draw the slideout in after having tested it, the locking mechanisms would not engage. The test he did seemed to only check the control box and not the magnetic switch or the wall switch. The problem may either be in the proximity switch and/or the wall switch. The setup would have been better if the system had two separate switches to control the slideout. A toggle style switch can fail too easily. Two momentary switches, one for in - one for out, would reduce the chances of a switch failure. In any event, we have had very few problems with our coach. We full time and it provides us a very good home while out and about in America. God Bless our troops here and abroad.
