Slider power

Will 110 volt 15 amp house outlet operate the sliders (one at a time) on a 2005 Scottsdale? I was dry camping and the thought occurred to me what would I do if the generator failed for whatever reason and my coach's sliders were out. I'm not sure what kind of power is required to operate and close the sliders. Thanks in advance.

Slide motors operate on 12 volts , if your coach batteries are dead and the gen set won't run , starting the coach engine would be the next step, failing that , jumping the house batteries from the toad.
Anything that charges the house batteries in the coach , including 15 amp power from your sticks and bricks will help operate the slides, but if the batteries are stone dead , you run the risk of over loading the converter/charger , so you should plug in and wait till the batteries charge before operating the slides.

As long as your batteries have been charged, if over night having shore line plugged in you may not have a problem.
Here is the slide spec which will have info on releasing the torque-nuts so you can push in the slide with help if the motors do not have the power they need.

On my rig the slides DO NOT work when the engine is running. They are locked
out for safety,so they do not move when driving down the road.

Hi Bespos,
siggyd's post is good information. My coach is the same. Having the engine running may help charge the coach batteries, but does nothing for slide operation.

Thx for the info! All is well as I was posing a hypothetical question if I were dry camping and the generator decided to quit.
