Sliding Door to toilet
Hi,
We just brought home our, new to us, 2005 DSDP 4024. Picked it up in Phoenix and drove it home to Manitoba over a period of a week. Had a great time coming home and are looking forward to warm weather here in Manitoba to DE-winterize and start using it.
I have several issues that I need to address and will have questions later but the first one for now is the sliding door to the toilet is catching when trying to open it. It will open only about half. I can open it fully if I apply pressure to the side of the door as I am opening it. I used an inspection camera and it appears like the door sheathing has become delaminated from its structure and is catching on a stud in the door cavity. My question is, is there a way of taking out the door so that it can be re-glued? What other remedy would I have if the door can't be removed?
Any thoughts would be appreciated
Thanks

I've had our pocket door off as the trolley screws had pulled out of the door. You will probably find two of these at the top of the door and they can be releasedby moving the white plastic trigger on the trolley. I think I used a small 7/16 open end wrench to finally release the trolley but the door did eventually did come off. The problem was the screws had pulled out of the top of the door. I went to a slightly larger and longer screw and it seems to be the fix.
I believe all this was caused by the lower slide lock not being engaged and the door was free to slide around with brake applications. At least I hope that was the loud noise.
It's not a bad job at all.

Hi jarwiebe,
In addition to what chuydog posted, mine has a cam that allows adjustment so the door matches the wall, when closed. If the door is flush with the wall, when closed, try not to mess with the cam adjustment. There is a cam for each roller. When on the track, adjusting the cam, I found to be difficult.

Well a week turned into a month and I finally got around to working on my pocket door. I found the white toggles that Chuydog referred to and could release them but was it ever a pain to get the trolley disengaged from the door. But I finally got them disengaged. The door is constructed with an aluminum frame with paneling applied to either side with what appears to be double sided tape which had let go at places and was allowing the paneling to warp outwardly and catch on a stud in the door framing. Anyone have any advice on what to use to reattach the panel to the aluminum frame. All I have at home is "no more nails" glue which does say it will stick wood to metal but I have never used it for this purpose. Would this work or is there different glue that would be recommended?

I think that would work fine. Gorilla glue would work as well.
The key will be not getting the glue all over. Wipe the aluminum off with rubbing alcohol first.

Use a couple of clamps, with metal or wood strips, to keep the paneling tight to metal frame until dry, use tinfoil or wax paper to help when removing,
