Small Metal Plate On Roof.
There is a small metal plate on the roof of a 2005 KSDP.
It is in the geographical center of the roof front to rear and left to right.
It looks to be original because of the caulking and there is nothing in the ceiling below the plate.
Question, What is it?
Still learning about the coach.

On ours it's covering the wiring for solar power input, could also be for a satellite dish, although that's usually further forward.

Some RVers put a metal plate on the roof using caulk so that a magnetic satellite radio antenna will stick.

Dwight: I have the same panel exactly as you describe. It is the optional solar wiring installed by Newmar. I had solar panels installed by my dealer and they ran all new wiring claiming the wiring pre-installed was too small.

Mine is for the satellite wiring. I know, I have had it off.

I have the same coach and same metal plate. Until I read this thread, I thought it was the port for in-flight refueling. (weak attempt at humor. It's Friday and I'm feeling it.)

Gee, I was going to suggest the place to insert the wind-up key. I bet it would improve mileage!

I have a similar plate on my 2008 Kountry Aire 5th wheel, and I have always thought that it is for solar prewire that I ordered as a Newmar option on our unit at that time. At least that's what the dealer told me when I took delivery of our Kountry Aire.
Does Newmar have the info on this if you gave them the serial number?
