Smoke Detector Add

I am a little concerned about a fire in the basement with all the electricals down there. I found these units in a pack of two. If a fire, or smoke were to start in the basement the unit in the living area will also alarm with a verbal announcement of the location.
I looked at the Nest, which can be networked with WiFi alerting, but decided to keep it simple.

Never new why they never had one in bedroom plus living area and also one in your electrical bay because of transfer switch fires.
One in engine compartment may give false readings if exhaust system had leaks, may need judgement on that location.
You may than want a fire extinguisher system, to fight a fire, added.

Dust and dirt will set off a smoke detector, also most smoke detectors have temperature constraints, they do not work below 40 degrees. However a heat detector will. But they are not life saving devices. Most of them are set to go off at around 195 degrees. but it's better than nothing.

Thanks for the tips. Basement is sealed, not planning on any temps below 40. Heat detector might be a future add on.

I installed them after seeing a video on David Botts site. Challenging to get the setup but once I got through the instructions and multiple alarmed in the Newmar FPU building they are reassuring. You sure will hear it if it goes off.

And that’s a great price.
